Mon. Sept.14/15, 11:45am, St. Theresa’s before the Blessed Sacrament
O My God. O My God. O My God.
What a great prayer eh? Yet we so often hear it said not in a praying
context.
But make it a prayerful expression for
you. Make it a rejoicing prayer
encounter for you.
By saying it 3 times like this, you address
The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Let it express your exuberant Trust in Me,
in the 3 persons in One.
Say it when you are happy or sad or just
anytime at all. It is a salutation that
calls you more into My Presence. Even
though you are calling out to us, it brings you, makes you more present to us.
That is – We are always with you, but due
to life’s distractions, you may not always be as present to us. So by uttering this prayer it raises your
soul into a higher conscientiousness of Us to you and you to Us.
Whisper it. Shout it out loud.
You may yell it in anger “O my God I can’t find my glasses” -- but let these words draw you into
prayer. So you say the same sentence again
but this time not in anger but in a prayerful mode.
See how the phrase said in anger gets your
blood boiling. But, if you follow it
with saying it in a prayerful fashion, see the difference in how it makes you
feel.
O My God said in anger does not call Me to
pay attention because you don’t want My Help you are only venting your
frustration.
O My God said in the next breath is a
prayerful request to have Me help you look for your glasses. And even if you do not find them quickly, you
are still in a better, calmer place for your body and soul to live and work
together.
So if you catch yourself saying O My God in
anger, or upset, or shock or surprise, do not hesitate to follow it quickly
with O My God said prayerfully. This
second approach will keep you happier and heathier in the long run.
Thank you for stopping and writing. Thank you for hearing My Voice and
responding.
Go in Peace and take O My God with you!
