Grow Strong Roots

#191  Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013  4pm, St. Theresa’s, before Blessed Sacrament.

I come to you in Glory.  Did you enjoy the reading from Habakkuk?

Can you see that so many before you have believed in Me so completely that even disaster did not dissuade their faith in Me.

Isn’t it also coincidental how we question Me about why I allow evil to persist, as did Habakkuk.  Human kind has not changed.

But beware that as you ask, you still continue to nourish your faith in Me.  Many times we get discouraged about bad things happening and utter “where is God?”

I do not mind you consulting with Me at all, but the firmness of your faith must not be shaken by disaster. 

It is not a test of your faith.  If you really do believe in Me and My Glorious Plan for mankind your faith will not falter.  It takes great courage to hold onto faith in the midst of tragedies.

That is why our union has to grow deeper and deeper.  One could not blow over a tree in a violent storm whose roots are so deep in the ground.

But you do not grow strong roots unless you grow deeper and deeper in Me.

It is natural to question Me and I don’t mind. But do you see how you question Me – with respect as I respect you, My Beloved.   It is natural to ask “when will this end Lord?” because if you have a personal relationship with Me that is naturally part of our conversation.

Do I, God, dare ask you when you will love each and every person equally and unconditionally?

You see, you see the speck in My Eye.  You do not like to see oppression, yet not loving as I have asked you to love oppresses Me.

Eegad, eh? I do not mean it destroys Me.  That is impossible. However, it does beg the question --- does not loving as I have asked you to love cause disaster and desolation and cruelty?

We don’t think that our lack of love is destructive do we?  We just think of it as part of being human. 

But I tell you, you cannot hide behind ‘being human’ when you know what I have asked of  you.

Now, I do not say this in a mean way.  If you wish to grow closer and closer to Me, you must allow Me to reveal to you some bitter Truths.

Bitter to you.  Who wants to hear that their un-loving ways can cause disaster and destruction?

And you can’t claim that you are loving when I can bring a few people before you and you will explain to Me how hard it is to love them. It may be hard I agree, but do you ask me daily to help you remove that dislike and hate from your heart?

Do you want to love them or are you satisfied to find them hard to love and leave it at that?

There are basic steps to take to love them:

Ø      Do not run them down.

Ø      Do not build yourself up.

Ø      Do not look for them to change but beg Me to change your heart.

Ø      When they come to mind, bring your soul and their soul into My Most Sacred Heart.

Ø      Do not look for them to speak nicely to your or well of you.  You do not love only if they love back – FALSE, FALSE, FALSE

Ø      You recognize that pride plays a huge role in keeping you from truly loving.

I think it is great that you have a model to copy!  How would you know it was possible if I had not told you and shown you.  “But yes” you say, “you are God, easy for you.”

Why would I have told you the two greatest commandments if I knew you could not endeavor to do them?

I would have told you “Well only Love Me and your neighbor a little bit.”

But I didn’t.

So Our Plan for you is not an impossible task to accomplish. 

It is darn hard because each one of us is working from our human level trying to accomplish this.  But work from your soul level – it will not let you down.

It does not function on human emotions – pride, self-pity, meanness.  It is on a God-level – able to express itself to God with no trappings – just true honesty.

Like your soul may say “I find it hard to love that person.  Help me Lord to love as you would have me do.”

While the physical says: “I find it hard to love that person Lord because…”  Your humanness recognizes their humanness and finds fault.

So let your soul speak to Me if you really want to love as I have asked you to love.  Keep your humanness out of this conversation because it will only find faults for not loving.

High roads...Low roads

There seems to be high roads and low roads in our lives – yet I am there on both roads.

Isn’t it funny that we all want to be and enjoy being on the high road and really don’t like the low road.

Yet I am there in both circumstances.

The high part of the high road is that I am there.  It has nothing to do really with the other circumstances – but that is how humans perceive things.

While on the low road, I have not put you there, but willingly journey with you there.

Your desire or goal should be to be with Me in both cases.

If I am the measuring tool, there should be no highs or lows just a constant calm that I am there with you.

So it is our human senses that lead us to sense/feel like we are on a high or a low.

Really, what should it matter?  If I am with you that should be your high and if I am with you and you feel low that should be your high.

Do not get lost in your feelings.  Sure they are part of life, but they are not all of you.

When you feel like you are on a high road, I seldom get referred to.

Yet when you are on a low road you think I have stepped out of your life.

In both cases first and foremost thank Me for being here with you --- whether you feel low or high.

It is acknowledging My Presence that will level out the highs and the lows.

But you say I like it when I feel high --- nothing is going wrong, feeling good and healthy, etc.

But you know this does not last, so quickly acknowledge Me and thank Me for being with you in this good time.

And when you aren’t feeling on top of the world, thank Me for being with you here too.

You can’t enjoy one and hate the other.  You are to realize that this is life on earth.  So how do you accept this?  Knowing that My Hand is on it makes it all acceptable.

Rejoice with Me when you are feeling great.  Rejoice with Me when you are not feeling great.

Can you see the difference?

We must find the Common Factor in each of our days ups and downs.

Rejoice in My Presence!!

This is a mighty step.  Sure it is easy to rejoice when things feel great, but who wants to rejoice when things are not so great?

But that is a sign of My Followers.

Your closeness to Me is not measured by how you feel. 

Your closeness to Me arises from what you believe to be true.  I am with you always.

When you are feeling great, how much time do you spend with Me?

When you are feeling not so great, how much time do you spend with Me?

Lets look at it from this angle.

When you are sitting with Me and adoring Me in the Blessed Sacrament are you physically feeling good or bad? 
When you feel good about being with Me, you are eager to thank Me; however, if you are not feeling yourself, you don’t have the same enthusiasm about thanking and praising Me.

In both cases, I graciously receive your thanks and praise.  What I want you to remember – It does not matter how you are feeling – you soul needs to greet its Maker with praise and thanks.

When we are feeling great or not so great, sometimes the body’s feelings get to rule the role the soul needs to play to sustain itself.

The soul, by your practicing the habit of praise and thanks, still is able to offer this on your behalf whether you forget because you are having such a great time or because the body is weakened by a not so good time that it forgets to praise and thank Me.  

This is no condemnation directed towards you.  It is a recommendation that you start to put this into practice. Ask Me to remind you when you are feeling good or not so good.

Ask Me to remind you to nourish your soul by proclaiming your praise and thanks to God. 

Sometimes our souls go for days without having a chance to honor its Creator.

Thus our mind set has to grow in the practice of thanking and praising God many, many times a day.  So no matter whether we feel high or low, our soul does not get neglected and left behind either in the joy of the moment or the pain of hurt, or just a low feeling time.

Our soul must maintain the equilibrium of God’s Constant Presence in our lives.  Our physical body may forget at times, yet we should endeavor to be also in contact with our soul – not wondering if it is feeling good or not, but allowing it to be the center point where His Being can always come inside.

The soul needs the embrace of God to survive.  So do we, but the vehicle that will keep us, our body, on an even keel is our soul.

When our body forgets, our soul will call us back to our Center.

You are even feeling it now Margo.  Like the intensity of prayer is not there, yet hasten to give your soul – no, encourage your soul to play the prominent role it should in your life encourage it to praise and thank Me even if you feel your words aren’t strong enough or good enough to say what you want to say.  Remember our body feelings sometime control our prayer feelings.  That is why I encourage you to ask your soul to speak on your body’s behalf.

Don’t ask your head to pray.  Ask your heart and soul to pray to Me on your body’s behalf.

We sometimes get caught up praying from our heads instead of our heart /soul.

I want permanent residence in your soul.  I want your soul to know Me and I to know your soul.  I know Mine and Mine know Me.

Thus you will not feel discouraged on days when prayer doesn’t seem to come easily.  Just encourage your soul to pray to God for you.  This exercise brings you to a deeper relationship with your soul and closer union to Me.

Huff

#189  Mon. Oct. 7/13, 9:30am, St. Theresa’s, before the Blessed Sacrament

Do you see how I am instructing you?  Before when you went off in a huff it did not bother you much.  Now, I allow your body to react negatively so you will see how hurtful the huff is to your soul.

I want to remind you of the damage that  sin does to your soul.  I can’t show you your soul but I can show you thru the body’s reaction.

How kind of Me to point out your sin, the damage your sin costs to your soul.

Otherwise, you would have felt you were justified for the huff, but your body is telling you differently isn’t it.

You must remember – you can jump into a pile of huff or you can jump into My Sacred Heart.  Not to hide there, but to be nourished by My Love for you and the other.

When we have a short fuse this indicates there is something missing from our lives.

I know you had been in prayer earlier, yet are you centered on Me or on you?

When centered on you, you get hurt or upset.  When centered on Me you give it all, I should say, you bring it all to Me.  What a difference eh?

When you take it to yourself, your love capacity can’t handle it because it is not love centered on God but on you.

It is amazing that when we think we have come so far, the ego can still drag us back into feeling sorry for ourselves.

So do not be discouraged.  Take this as a lovely lesson.  Your transformation is a slow and gradual process, so never get discouraged.  Just thank Me for allowing you to ‘experience’ these emotions, so you can  be reminded that our human nature can drag us back there anytime.

You would not have had this thank-you insight before. You would have been disappointed.
