(The lord gave me time
to ‘wait’ and contemplate His Sacred Heart.)
“So what you have realized as a gift from Me is the fact
that there is no ‘dry desert time’ in your life when I feel far away.
That is, what may appear to you as a ‘dry desert time’ when
you do not seem to be as close to Me as other times, is really a gift from Me.
It is not a low time, but rather a different time of
spending time with Me. It is a great
opportunity to release yourself to deeper trust, deeper love, deeper
dependence.
Do not look for Me in these times but look for the
opportunity to trust me more without any apparent rhyme or reason; to believe
in Me more without apparent recompense; to love Me more seeking nothing in
return.
Abandoning yourself to ‘something’ (ME) who does not seem as
alive and present to you right now.
What a great gift! You must know first of all that I have not abandoned you. OK – you got that straight? Now keep that close to your heart and remind
yourself of it when it seems like a ‘dry desert time’. I have said it and so it is so.
But cherish the times when you feel less in contact with
Me. I want you to become deeper in our
relationship but this will not happen unless I give you ‘dry desert times’.
Cherish them, rejoice in them, share them, smile because you
know you are not deserted yet have this opportunity to realize that ‘dry desert
times’ are gifts from the One who loves you.
You can’t manage to live in high times all the time. It would not feed and fulfill your
nature.
You NEED ‘dry desert times’ to become more you as I love you
to be.
It is not a time to throw your hands up in frustration
saying “I don’t seem to be able to pray as well” or “whatever inspirational
thing I am writing doesn’t seem to be getting to my soul” or “I can’t seem to
concentrate when saying the rosary.”
So do you throw our relationship aside too? Or do you say “Hmmm, there is something
deeper going on here. Instead of trying
to do better, why do I not just allow myself to ‘be’ – to sit in His presence
not begging to be first in line, or have His approval, or seek a pat on the head, or a thumbs up for my spiritual efforts.”
I dare you to come
aside and sit in My presence and experience what seems to be a ‘dry desert
time’ with Me.
You may not feel as strong in your faith, as committed in
your faith but that is neither here nor there.
Please get to know, get to realize that this ‘dry desert
time’ is My special gift to you. It is
not a taking away of My graces, My help.
It is a strengthening of our relationship.
It is trusting when you feel ho hum.
It is praying when all seems unanswered.
It is being willing to stay in My presence when I do not
feel present.
Now it is not a test of your faith this ‘dry desert time’. Rather it is an opportunity to deepen your
faith on this journey together.
Sometimes people presume that I have moved away, have
abandoned them at these times. It could
not be any more wrong.
I cannot abandon you.
But as you grow in your prayer life, as you beg to be closer to Me, as
you kneel in thanks to the souls in purgatory, these are all signs to Me that
you want to experience a deeper journey with Me and how else can this happen
other than thru the gift (My gift to you!) of the ‘dry desert times’.
Thus, if you are praying your rosary and do not seem to be as
devote even though you are trying – Stop, smile and realize that I am inviting
you to experience this ‘dry desert time.’
Put aside all other spiritual distractions and sit with
Me. Tell Me how much you love Me, how
much you trust Me, how much you want to know Me more.
Do not look for or wait for an answer from Me. Remember, this is your ‘dry desert time’ – I
do not have to nourish you because the ‘dry desert time’ is in itself full of
My nourishment – of a different kind.
I know you questioned (and I don’t mind) when I said ‘put
aside all other spiritual distractions’ because you feel that others
will say I am saying that your daily prayers and the rosary are distractions –
that is, not good enough.
They are good, I have told you before, yet what would My
precious Mother tell you – “Do as He says” – not do as you wish or think
appropriate. These words from her
precious lips speak volumes.
She is telling you that I know best, that I know what you
need right now and for you to “Do as He says”.
She knows the precious value of the rosary. My Mother would not have given it to you if
it had not come from Me to her.
She does not act alone in anything she does. Yet she willingly acts in response to My
wishes for you and the world. She is
willing to be mocked for My sake and the salvation of souls. My Mother is stronger than you think – not in
working miracles as such, but in being obedient.
She has not lost the understanding of her role in
creation. She does not try to usurp any
of My God-given power. She cries to
serve Me tenderly. She obediently steps
out of the shadow of the Cross to make Me known to others.
I love her so! I
cling to her faithfulness. I delight in
her very being.
So do not think I ever belittle her when I may ask you to
put aside your routine prayers, which may include the rosary and come aside and
sit with Me.
“Do as He says” – Could anyone have said more profound
life-changing words than these?
Sure My words are life-changing, however My Mother is not
Me. She is not God, yet she knows that
the promises I made to her are fulfilled, so her precious words “Do as He says”
reach down through generations and enable each of My precious creations to either
choose to follow Me or not.
You notice she does not say “Do as He says…. Or else.” With her pointing to Me, she does not inject
any of herself into it. She knows My love and My love never threatens dire
consequences otherwise it would not be pure love.
May I caution you. Do
not look for the ‘dry desert times’ because then you have taken your attention
off of Me and substituted it with your plan to look for the ‘dry desert time.’
You will know it when it comes. Let it settle on you as from out of
nowhere. Rejoice when it does come. Embrace this special time with Me. Honor it with your trust, smile because it is
a marvelous part of our journey together.
It is a special blessing – so see it as just that. No need to brag “heh, I am going through a
‘dry desert time’.” You will know by My prompting with whom you should share
this. And perhaps I will ask you to
share it with no one. And be most
satisfied to do just that.
Obedience is all part of this ‘dry desert time’. That fact, of obedience, does not change.
So come aside and sit with Me and thank Me for revealing to
you the enormous graces that a ‘dry desert time’ has for you.
It has never been nor intended to be a graceless time. It is a fine-tuning time. It is a calling to come aside and deepen your
very ‘being’. It is a diet time –
ridding yourself of the things that creep in that need to be let go of.
As you sit with Me in this ‘dry desert time’ things will be
revealed to you that you are not seeking, yet are so beneficial for your
soul.
Once again, seek nothing in this ‘dry desert time’. Yet your faithfulness, to be willing to come
aside and joyfully embrace it, will produce a 100 fold.
So fear not the ‘dry desert time’ -- it is a special gift from Me. If it were not so I would have told you.
Sit quietly with this grace-filled knowledge. Smile, with thanks that you can’t contain,
for you know more of Me, more of My plans for you.
Rejoice as the Shepherds!
-- for you are seeing the Glory
of God.
