Pride haunts you.

My Words want to flow and flow.

I want you to be reassured of My love for you.  I feel this is something you need to hear today. 

What is going on in your life that has disturbed you?  Please share it with Me.  I am always here to hear and advise.  I long to speak to your heart and set things right that you may feel are all awry. 

Come aside and sit with Me.  Share with Me your concerns.  See I am here for you, want to honor your needs, want to show you how worthy you are of My attention.

Spill the beans.  Come on, tell Me what is troubling you.  Do not be afraid to share anything with Me.  NOTHING is trite, Nothing is too small or too big.

But I know there is something bothering you, so please lean in close to My ear and whisper if you find it too hard to say out loud.

Lose yourself in My presence.

Lose the weight that is dragging you down. 

Lose your self-centeredness and let Me be your center.

Lose your pride. Swallow it.  Denounce it as not something that enhances our relationship.  Put it aside – give it to Me.  Let Me show you the harmful price of pride.

Let your-self slip into My loving arms. Sit quietly with Me as I instruct you about your pride.  Do not throw up any arguments but see pride through My eyes and hear the Truth that frees any soul that is open to hearing and receiving it. 

Quiet your pride.  It is such a waste of time and energy to nurture pride. 

Do not feed it.  Run to Me if you feel your pride overwhelming you and lay it at My feet.  Let Me embrace your pride – your pride which hales from all sorts of insecurities. I did not create you to be insecure. 

I created you to be secure in My Words, My Presence.  Yet pride, fed by our fallen nature, creeps in so sneakily that sometimes we don’t even recognize it as pride.

Tell Me what you think pride looks like.  Is it pretty?  Does it make you bolder, more beautiful, more knowledgeable, more attractive?

Pride does not build us up.  It reduces us further and further into dependence on ourselves and not on Me  --  your One and Only God.

Pride does not strengthen you.  It eats away at your loving, outgoing character and does not enable you to look at others without criticism.

Pride haunts you.  How do I look?  Am I saying the appropriate thing?  Am I liked – more than others?

So all this time you are talking to pride, you are not talking to Me.

The sin of pride drags you far from our relationship into a self-centered frenzy feeding of futility  --  trying to make you better – in whose eyes?  For what purpose? 

It becomes such a maze of me, more me, more me.  Taking you away from the only Me that can satisfy your EVERY need.

So you see the effect of sin.  It is not that what you do is bad, but rather what you do to  yourself that is harmful because you take you further and further away from Me. 

It is interesting because we don’t grasp sin.  It is not doing a bad thing so much as going further and further away from Me.  Do you see the difference? 

It takes you deeper and deeper into self-dependency which is such a futile move.  How can you save you?  tell Me please.  How can you save you? 

So don’t avoid sin because you think it is a bad thing to do.  Avoid sin because it takes you away from Me. 

I know you may say that you know this fact already, however that is not how you react.

You tell your sins in confession to re-cleanse your soul, to start over on a better foot. 

However, you are seeking to improve you.  You are not seeking Me to improve you.

Next time before going to confession, come aside and sit with Me and ask Me to point out your sins.  I will not do this gloatingly.

I will do this so you will be able to look beyond what you see as your sins and come to see what I want you to confess.

How many times have you asked Me to point out to you what I want you to confess?  Not many, eh?

Because you are still caught up in you controlling this Sacrament.

You want to show Me and the priest how well you have examined your conscience.

But since you are not the fullness of Truth, there may be things you overlook which are really more important to the building of our heart to heart relationship.

So, the next time I urge you to go to confession, even if you feel you do not have anything in particular to confess, ask Me right away what I feel you need to bring to Me through this Sacrament.  Ask Me, Ask Me.

And then, watch out for pride because pride will eagerly step in and tell you that you can’t possibly confess THAT sin to a priest. What will he think of you? 

So pride keeps you from receiving the many graces of this Sacrament, by telling you that you can tell your sin directly to Me, not through My representative here on earth.

Do you see how pride is so destructive?  It does not allow your soul to feed on the graces I have supplied through this Sacrament.  It tells you that there is no need for the Sacrament which I instituted. 

Do you realize what you are saying?  I AM IN CONTROL LORD.

I WILL PICK AND CHOOSE WHAT ABOUT YOU I LIKE AND DON’T LIKE.

Can you imagine the pride it takes to come to this conclusion?  No wonder we cannot have a relationship when you have decided what TRUTHS you will follow and what TRUTHS you will discard?

So how can you follow Me this way and not follow Me that way?

How do you know which way is the right way?  If I am THE WAY, and you choose not to follow My Way all the time – whose way are you following the other times?

What extreme confusion this places in one’s soul.  Talk about losing your way. 

Note:  you lose your way.  You cannot lose when you follow My Way.  The only thing you will lose is your pride which only leads you in your ways which do not lead to full union with Me. 

So what are you willing to give up to follow only My Way?

Come aside and sit with Me and ask Me to show you the fullness of My Way and where your way gets in The Way.

I tell you,  you may not be able to give up this or that immediately, but at least you will be enlightened as to what you need to relinquish to Me.

I have heard you ask “What do I need to do Lord?”  But you don’t always sit with Me and wait for an answer and be patient.  You may not get instant insight, but even your persistent asking shows Me that your heart is sincere in this quest. 

Don’t let your pride discourage you.  And oh it will try!  Pride only wants you satisfied with yourself.  It does not want you satisfied to serve Me. 

Come aside and sit with Me and ask Me to show you how your pride has prevented you from coming ever more closer to Me.

I will honestly tell you because I want you ever more closer to Me. 

Now smile, Know you are so, so loved by your constant companion who wants to put your pride in its proper place --  in obedience to Me.
