Do we need to examine our conscience? Not looking at what we have done wrong, but asking the Lord for more Grace so we may serve Him better.
So often we look at our sins, confess them, do penance, BUT forget to ask for Graces to do His Will.
For when we are about doing His Will, we are not sinning!
The value of confession is important, but it is paramount that we fill any voids in our soul, after confession, with Graces to follow His Will.
Not so much to sin no more, because then we are just avoiding sin and not acting in a more positive fashion --- i.e. to do His Will.
It is not “I mustn’t do this or that.” But rather “Lord help me to do this or that.”
If He is in charge of leading us, He will not lead us into sin.
