Lead me in prayer Lord.

I call, you write.

My Dear People need to hear and be sustained by My Words.

I ache for them to stop and listen and take in and be guided by My Words.

We have to stop and listen.  In the hustle and bustle of the day, you may hear Me call out to you, but if you don’t stop and listen, then that moment of Grace is gone.

So when you hear My Voice – just stop and listen.

Just you stopping and listening means you want to hear more from Me.  I may share nothing but Myself.  I may not answer prayers and petitions.  But that is not why you come aside.  Truly you come aside just to BE more in My Presence than in the presence of the World.

I want My People to be able to sustain their delicate soul this day with My Nourishment.  I express to you that BEING in My Presence, deliberately stepping aside from the World, gives you the refreshment you need.

It is like taking a glass of water to refresh the body.  You have to stop and be still and drink the water, then go on with what you were doing.

The same with Me.  I am Living Water for your soul and thus you need to stop and take Me in to nourish your soul, then go on with your day.

It is so simple when I explain it like that isn’t it.   And really it is that simple.

Sure, you greet Me when you awake to a new, holy day.  You have your morning prayers. Yet, I also ask you to step aside in the midst of anything when I call, and dip into My Living Water.

It is easy, well maybe not always that easy, to set out certain times of the day to pray.   But you see that is your choice of when you will come to visit with Me.  Rest assured I never belittle any time you come aside to be with Me.  Yet I hope you see the difference.

When I jump into your plans and ask you to come aside are you joyfully willing to do so?

In the middle of your exercises, watching tv, reading a book, doing housework or office work, are you willing to step aside to BE with Me?

I do not necessarily call you aside for a long time, but I do call you to come aside.

Your ‘coming aside’ may be only one Hail Mary, or one prayer of petition for your family members, or you may stay longer.

It is not the length of time, but rather the fact that you respond to My Call to ‘come aside.’

You will gradually get very used to these nudgings and I ask you when you realize it is from Me that you joyfully, eagerly respond.

Maybe it is just “hi Lord, thank You for jumping into my day,”  or it could be “I need You, Lord”, or maybe “thanks for the sunshine.”

The prayers should always reflect your gratitude to Me being Present in your life even the prayer “I need you Lord” is one of thanks!

It is when you express to Me that you are not in control of this World, because you have come to realize that you are not, what a relief eh.

It indicates that you want to give more of you to Me when you realize who is in control.

Of course it makes sense that you are not going to come aside when you want to stay in control and be on top of all that happens in your day.

So the more you respond to My Nudging, the more of your control you give up.  It is a great exercise not so much in self-discipline, but in giving of you to Me.

It is not discipline as much as a willingness to recognize Me as your Lord and Saviour.

Pray for the Grace of Willingness to give more of you to Me this day and then pray the same prayer tomorrow.

I want to see your eyes pop open when you realize that I am more in charge of your day because you have willingly let Me BE.

It will cause you to be in awe.  Really.  When you submit more of you to Me it causes in you great awe.

And really you will end up smiling because I have caught you off guard and yet you still responded in the affirmative.

You will say “You know me Lord!”  How beautiful to be able to say that to the Lord. “You know me Lord!”

I know you inside out, up and down, back and forth.

So Please, I accept all the planned prayer time you give to Me, but I want you more and more attuned to My Planned Prayer Time for you.

Your planned prayer time addresses your need to be with Me yes, but now I want you to honor My Need to have you with Me.

I may call you to say thank you with Joy when you had not planned to.

I may call you to pray sincerely for the soul of those causing harm in the World.

I may ask you to be silent when you think you should add your voice or idea to the tumult.

I may ask you to offer your pain to Me, right now, for Me to use as I see fit.

Let Me jump into your day to really and truly satisfy your need for Me.

Ask Me to show you how to offer your day to Me.

Let Me lead you in your morning prayer.

Yes. Get down on your knees, or sit on the side of your bed, or even on waking while you are still in bed, ask Me to lead you in your morning prayers.

I want to open your soul to the fact that this day is fuller than you really know.  So let Me lead you in prayer.

NEVER, EVER  think that “oh all my morning offerings over the years have been foolish and in vain”  --- in other words I have been a failure in prayer all these years.

Don’t you dare entertain self-pity and self-rejection.

I have not disqualified any of your prayers to Me.

I am only showing you now an even deeper way to pray.

Wouldn’t that make the humble heart leap for joy.

So if you are running yourself down, check your heart.

And if you wish you can turn your negative response to a joyful thank you God if that is how you want your relationship to grow in Me.

However, some of you may take some kind of comfort in feeling so worthless for so long and may want to continue in that awkward mode of prayer.

It is awkward because it does not allow you to grow in spirituality.

It is just like keeping your feet in small sized shoes.  Your feet cannot grow properly and thus will cause such unnecessary pain.

Do you want to stay in a painful prayerful mode brought on by your own choosing?  Or do you want to pray more fully in spite of your pain and other restrictions?

Praying deeper, as I am calling you to do, does not mean you will not experience suffering.  Remember Me in the Garden of Gethsemane?  It means you will pray more fully and completely despite your suffering, beyond your suffering.

Come, please come and let Me lead you in prayer!

When you are at home, by yourself, in a crowd, before the Blessed Sacrament, just whisper “lead me in prayer Lord”.  And see where it leads your soul.
